Spring/Summer 18: Shoe Trend Forecast Women

Today we introduce you two more women shoe trends for SS18, incorporated in the Kinship Vision. Check them bellow and find the details of each one.

As the act of discovery becomes intertwined with notions of wealth and luxury, space exploration will inspire a new take on sci-fi themes. Use metallic surfaces and plastic materials to put a sci-fi spin on core items, and tap into the trend for comfort with stretch materials and easy-to-wear profiles such as the block or wedge.

As the focus on wellness becomes more mainstream , so does the focus on materials that are deemed to benefit. Mineral formations evolve the trend for marble-effect materials and offer a commercial update for embellishment and detail. For a more directional look, consider using these materials for features heels.

The commercial appeal of minimalist styles remains strong, but as consumers reject the mass-produced in favor of the small-scale, a rustic quality will be key to ensuring their future appeal. Combine raw edges, crepe soles and natural leathers with wrapped ties, elasticated toplines and ruched constructions.

Prints and Graphics Trends Women SS/18 : Kinship

Check out the new prints and graphics trends that you will see on the SS/18 runways, incorporated in the Kinship Vision.

biker bandits prints

Mapping the rise of “girl gangs”, and female-only subcultures, Kinship explores this companionship in domains traditionally held by men. Inspired by female motorcycle clubs, customized back placements are key for this trend where kitsch girl gang evolves in to  rebel wild-child with a Western edge. Perfect for juniors and the festival drop.

Romantic roses and kitsch hearts are paired with gritty slogans, dark motifs and studding for a tougher look. Florals and lettering are painted by hand with a DIY feel and motifs draw inspirations from tattoo design, with grainy, dot shading adding depth. Classic black and red exudes the biker aesthetic, but for a fresher look combine pop pastels with brights.

culture collector prints

Kinship is a trend with a global outlook, inspired by a blend of cultures. Traditional patterns from carpets, tapestries and global textiles are fused together and reinvented with a graphic hand. Thousands of years of trading cultural riches culminates in vibrant and diverse decorative pattern that makes a bold statement for festival season.

Take inspiration from the explorative spirit of ancient trade routes by fusing a multitude of patterns in one design, transporting traditional patterns into the new world. Renew these time-honoured motifs with a stylized hand, and intensify prints with a bold key line and decorative dotting. For further impact, heighten with a contrasting heavy colors.
